What are primary colours?

What are secondary colours?

What are tertiary colours?

Primary colours= red, blue and yellow

Secondary colours are primary colours mixed together. Red and yellow = orange, red and blue = purple, and blue and yellow = green.

Tertiary colours are secondary colours mixed with a bit more of the primary colour. For example, Orange mixed with yellow makes yellow orange, and purple mixed with blue makes blue purple.

You are going to use your mixing skills today to make a colour wheel.

1. Paint the primary colours

2. Mix the primary colours to get your secondary colours and then paint them

3. Mix the secondary colours with primary colours to get the tertiary colours and then paint them.

Use the two colour wheels to help you.
