Chilli one is for children working below expected for writing in their last report.  These children need to focus on forming letters correctly.  If you find your child is coping well with this challenge tomorrow try to work on chilli two.

Chilli two is for children working at expected for writing in their last report.  These children need to focus on writing a clear sentence, using sounds they already know.  Words do not need to be spelt correctly.  If you find your child is coping well with this challenge tomorrow try to work on chilli three.

Chilli three is for children working beyond expected for writing in their last report.  These children need to be forming clear sentences using sounds they already know and begin to write stories.  If you find your child is coping well with this challenge, tomorrow try to get them to write their own sentences.

I would like the children to try to write 'he ate an apple.’

It is likely to look something like this. he at an apl

Don’t forget to use finger spaces.

I would like the children to try to write ‘On Monday he ate an apple.’

It is likely to look something like this.  On munda he at an apl.

Don’t forget to use a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop.

I would like the children to try to write ‘On Monday he ate an apple.  He was still hungry.  On Tuesday he ate two pears.  He was still hungry.’

It is likely to look something like this.  On Mondai he ait an apl. He was stil hungree. On Tusdai he ait to pes. He was stil hungree.

Don’t forget to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

An example of a fantastic story.
