To help you complete today’s task on 3D shapes, please keep in mind that again they use the term corner to label the ‘pointy bits’. At Thornhill we just use the term vertex (for one) or vertices (for more than one). You might also see the use of the word surface to describe a face- this is more common when the face is curved- for example, the cone has one curved surface and one flat round face.

After completing the slides, you could...

Find 3d shapes in the home, and note down the 2d shapes you spot in them. Are you able to sort them into different groups?  Count their faces, edges, vertices. Do you notice any patterns?
