31.03.20

When we last did Maths, we practised adding two numbers together by first jumping to 10 and then adding the remaining number.

For example,

6 + 8 =

1. Circle the first number.

2. Jump to the nearest 10 (6+4=10 so I will jump 4).

3. Jump the remaining number (I have already jumped 4. I need to jump 4 more to make 8. This is the trickiest step and you may want to use some resources, e.g. lego or coins to help you with this step).

4. Cirle the answer

Complete the number sentences using a number line (you can find one online or easily make your own).

6 + 8 =

5 + 8 =

9 + 4 =

6 + 6 =

7 + 4 =

9 + 6 =

5 + 7 =

6 + 7 =

Let us know how you are getting on and if you need any help.
