Music Vision

Music is a universal language that captures emotions, thoughts and feelings through musical narratives. At Thornhill Primary School, it is our vision to ensure all of our pupils see music as an enjoyable and engaging learning experience. Through appreciation, composition, performance and reflection, our children receive experiences that engage and inspire them to express their creativity in a variety of ways. We also encourage children to listen to and explore various cultures through music. Our teaching focuses on developing our children’s understanding of rhythm, tempo, dynamics and texture of music. We also provide opportunities to creatively explore music through singing songs, creating rhythms and producing melodies. Our curriculum provides children with unique opportunities to participate in a range of experiences that will help build their confidence.
