PE Home Learning Challenges- W/B 27th April 2020 

 

We would like you to continue your Physical Daily Diary this week. It would be fantastic if you could get  keep this diary going, even in note form, for the foreseeable future. It is a good habit to have and it will enable you to set your own physical learning goals beyond Year 6.

 

This week is all about 'stance'.

 

Ideally, we would use a bench or beam for most of these challenges- but keeping still on a line ( even an imaginary one is fine)  We have listed ALL the levels of challenge. Decide carefully which level you would like to start on- but feel free to move up or down depending on your success.

REMEMBER- YOU MUST BE ABLE TO CONTROL YOUR MOVEMENTS WITHOUT WOBBLING OR STEPPING OF THE LINE. 

 

Maintaining balance throughout:

I can stand on a line with a good stance for 10 seconds

 

I can receive a small force from various angles.

(Ask a family member to try and gently push you of the line)

 

I can raise alternate feet 5 times.

I can raise alternate knees 5 times.

I can catch a ball at chest height and throw it back.

 

I can raise alternate knees to opposite elbow 5 times.

I can catch a large ball thrown at knee height and above my head.

I can catch a large ball thrown away from my body.

I can catch a small ball thrown close to and away from my body.

 

I can throw and catch 2 small balls alternately, using both hands, both close to and away from my body. ( you can any soft small objects if you do not have a ball)

I can strike a small ball back to a partner with a racket/ or hand.

I can strike a small ball back to a partner from across my body with a racket/ or hand .

 

I can throw and catch a small ball, catching across the body with either hand.

I can throw and catch 2 balls alternately, catching across my body with either hand.

I can volley a large ball back to a partner with either foot.
