School Swimming at Thornhill Primary is now delivered as part of the curriculum in Year 3 & 5.
Children attend sessions at Hamble Sports Complex, Hamble Lane. All Hamble coaches are qualified to Swim England Level 2, hold a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and attend regular safeguarding and other professional training.

From September 2023, Year 3 group sessions will take place weekly on Tuesdays, commencing 12 /9/22 . Year 5 group sessions will take place on Wednesdays, commencing 13/9/21.
There are 4 groups per year group rotating each 9 weeks. Parents will be notified individually when their child's group will attend.
