At Thornhill Primary School it is our intent to prepare our learners to be safe, happy and healthy members of the community. Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) curriculum is designed to equip children with the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to lead healthy, safe, and fulfilling lives. Rooted in the principles of the Department for Education’s Relationships and Health Education (RHE) guidance, our curriculum promotes the development of the whole child—socially, emotionally, and physically—preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of adult life. .
We aim to embed dispositions to support our children in becoming successful learners, responsible citizens and safe and happy individuals through developing the character skills of reciprocity, resilience, resourcefulness, reflectiveness and responsibility. By the end of their primary education, our children will have developed a strong sense of self, an understanding of healthy relationships, the tools to manage their physical and mental health, and a solid foundation in how to keep themselves safe in their everyday lives. Ultimately, we strive to nurture compassionate, responsible, and confident individuals who contribute positively to society, their communities, and the world around them.
