Spitfire Breakfast Club

The aim of Spitfire Breakfast Club is to support pupils with a positive start to the day which is based on a flexible approach for parents and carers. 

Places must be booked in advance via MCAS. However, if you have not previously booked our Spitfire Breakfast Club before you must complete a registration form and return it to the school office. You will then be able to book via MCAS. 

The club runs from 7.45am until the start of the school day. The cost is £4 per session.  Please note you will need to sign your child in each day they attend.

The club is managed by staff already employed at Thornhill Primary School and they have excellent relationships and knowledge of the pupils. 

Your child will be welcomed by a member of staff and offered breakfast.

Breakfast consists of juice, milk, cereals, toast, and sometimes pancakes or waffles.

If you want your child to have breakfast at the club, please ensure they arrive before 8.15am. 

It is vitally important that you advise us of any allergies or intolerances that your child may have. We appreciate that you will probably already have told the school about this, and they will have let breakfast club staff know.  However, to be absolutely safe, we ask that you to talk to our breakfast club staff too about any issues that could affect your child. 

After they have eaten, the children are then free to play in the hall - there are a range of activities to engage with.

At 8.40am the KS1 pupils are escorted to class.  The KS2 pupils are allowed to leave the hall and make their way to their own classes. 

How do I book a place?

1. Fill in a registration form which is available at the school office.
2. Once your child is registered you will receive an email confirming this.
3. You will then need to book and pay via MCAS.

ALL places must be paid for and booked in advance

• We can accept childcare voucher schemes including HMRC Tax free childcare scheme.  Some employers offer voucher schemes too.  They will advise you how to enrol on this. If you are planning to use vouchers please let our School Office know.

Spitfire After School Club

Spitfire After School Club has 2 session options. 

Session A begins when school ends and runs until 4.30pm. This costs £5 per session.

Session B begins when school ends and runs until 5.45pm. This costs £10 per session.

The club aims to provide a safe, fun and relaxing place for all children to enjoy the end of their school day with carefully planned activities that are age appropriate. If children are staying for Session B (3.10pm – 5.45pm) they will receive a light meal.

What do we offer the children?

The club is led by experienced childcare practitioners who will plan activities that are both child initiated and adult led. A variety of equipment and resources will be available in order to facilitate the activities. Each day and each week will differ, with opportunities for those children who want to work on their home-work also being catered for.

• We understand that sometimes there are delays due to either work or the traffic. However, if there are more than 2 occasions of late pick ups, you will incur an extra charge (as per the Terms & Conditions).
